Cassandra Monique Batie is a singer, songwriter, and actor from the United States. She has a specialization in R&B & soul. This, in turn, led to the Motown legend connected Day to the music industry's expert Adrian Gurvitz. Day was a part of Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, grew a following on YouTube and signed by Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut single Forever Mine. It was played promptly from radio DJs. She subsequently joined Warner Bros. Records and started work with the producer Adrian Gurvitz to record her debut album, Cheers to the Autumn (2015). The song "Rise Up" became a global anthem in social justice movements. Day was awarded two Grammy nominations including Best R&B Album. She first appeared in the film Halloween as Allyson After appearing on several television shows including Orange Is the New Black (Orange Is the New Black), Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue), Blue Bloods and Orange Is the new black.
